Akito Desert Pants (Sand/Black, Large)Knew there might be a fit issue if I got the XL to use as overpants after reading reviews, so I got the L. After loosing another 10-15 lbs. they'll be PERFECT as overpants for anything. Right now, shorts are the order of the day. Length is perfect to (I'm a 37W 32L).They're not heavy at all after you remove the waterproof and thermal liners. Yes, TWO liners! I must of missed that in my research. They have a waterpeoof liner AND a thermal liner that can be used individually or together. . . I was pleasantly surprised. The knee armor is big enough and in the right place for me. Lucky, as it's placement isn't adjustable. The only thing missing is hip armor plates. There are pockets for the plates at both hips, you just have to purchase them (they're also not going to be adjustable).Overall, very, very happy. Oh, one review said the 'sand' color was closer to white. It kinda is, but it's still 'sandy' and would look very good, with the matching Desert jacket, especially on a dual-sport rider (very 'military'/'middle-of-nowhere-adventure' looking, by the way). I ride wearing a decidedly white leather jacket and helmet, and unless I REALLY make an issue of the pants being not-quite-white, I get called out for looking like a Stormtrooper from Star Wars (ha-ha). As long as I'm SEEN while on the road, I'm cool with it.*UPDATE*After a couple of weeks with these pants I'm still very happy. With no thermal liner in they're still warm and comfortable enough in 50 deg. weather. The two vents below the front pockets don't really seem to do much, but I've not been in REALLY hot temps. . . yet. All in all, give 'em a try and IMHO, you wont be sorry.
